Macan Deve was part of the Tutor Perini/Parsons design-build team for a new 1 million square foot emergency power generator ancillary building at Newark Airport Terminal 1 for the Port Authority of NY and NJ.  As a subconsultant to STV Inc, Macan Deve is providing full-service Mechanical and Plumbing engineering design services for the generator building and supporting services.  Macan Deve’s scope includes initial design criteria, equipment sizing and validation for conformance to the Contract OPR documents and Design Development through Issue for Construction [IFC] documents for the D/B Contractor. Macan Deve designed the HVAC system with RTUs small enough to accommodate sensitive electrical equipment rooms, yet large enough to supply engine room ventilation and large space heating. Mini split units were designed for small space conditioning of Engineer's office.  The availability of critical equipment to operate during an emergency was not compromised by the Balance of Plant HVAC system design.  Any leaks that could impact sensitive electronic equipment were avoided through materials of construction and/or avoided from electrical rooms.  BIM (Revit) and Navisworks were used to run piping through constrained spaces to avoid clashes with other conduit and piping in the shared footprint.
