Macan Deve was awarded this exciting design-build project to design, furnish, and install a new fire alarm and smoke control system following a Best Value selection process by the Owner.  Our Team, which includes Emtec Consulting Engineers, DPC, Johnson Controls, Inc. and a highly-qualified group of implementation partners, worked collaboratively with NYPA throughout an investigation and audit period and design development phase to arrive at a comprehensive and cost-effective IFC design for replacement of the facility’s fire alarm system.  The design and planning involved the challenges of maintaining the current system throughout implementation of the new one, with demolition of the existing system following a testing and commissioning phase.  The Project required a customized approach based on various critical systems and close coordination with the Owner to minimize disruption to hundreds of employees who continued to work out of the facility during construction.  The Project is on target to achieve substantial completion in June 2023, months ahead of schedule.
