Owner: New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)

Client: New York Power Authority

Location: NYC

Projected Completion Year: Current

MDE was contracted by NYPA, as CMA, to provide technical services before construction and full-time construction oversite services at 830 Amsterdam.  Scope of work includes the removal of the building’s central heating plant, and the full electrification of the air conditioning, heating, and domestic hot water system for this single NYCHA high rise.  A central domestic hot water heating system will electrically heat the water for the entire building, while each of the rooms in each apartment will be receiving wall mounted, ductless, space heating and cooling units, connected to roof mounted VRFs.  Once completed, the residents at 830 Amsterdam will be able to locally and individually control their apartment temperatures.
